A one day introduction to cricket

A cricket match that is completed in a single day, unlike Test match and domestic first-class cricket, is known as a one-day cricket match. One day cricket match, unlike Test cricket, usually ends with a result in a single day’s game. One-day cricketers usually appear in brightly colored clothing to increase viewer interest and further enhance the appeal to television networks that broadcast many one-day international matches.

One-day cricket began between English county teams during the 1960s. The first one-day international was played in Melbourne, Australia, during 1971, and the quadrennial Cricket World Cup began in 1975. Many of the “Coverage” innovations, such as colored clothing, were the result of the Cricket World Series, a “revolutionary” system of series outside the cricket organization by Australian media industrialist Kerry Packer.

The one-day cricket match is popular with viewers as it can give nagging confidence, risky batting and fun often resulting in cliffhanger endings. It also ensures that a spectator can go and watch an entire game without spending five days of constant attendance that is regularly subject to nasty weather conditions. There is no doubt that one day cricket solicits frequently from those who will generally find five days of Test cricket extremely boring. Since its inception, one day cricket has fascinated a large crowd. One day cricket is normally referred to as limited or limited international cricket match.
