The best SWTOR tank class for the toughest encounters
GamingStar Wars The Old Republic is one of the few massively multiplayer online games that truly gives each and every class a lot of viable options for playstyle. A monotony of most games has been the fact that they stick to the boring and overused reels that the genre has established. A warrior is always supposed to tank, a cleric is supposed to heal all the time, and so on.
The classes in STWOR can actually play 2-3 different roles, as well as the other classes with the skill. This gives each player the opportunity to play their favorite type of character in the role that they really want.
So instead of just 1 type of class being a great tank, all the classes that can tank are pretty good at it. However, each of these classes performs its role in different ways. Let’s take a look at what makes each tank class special …
Sith Assassin / Jedi Shadow
These SWTOR tanks are not the typical tank class found in other games. When you play as the level-up character, you would think they are more DPS classes than anything else. However, that is not true. In fact, they offer a large tank capacity.
His tank style includes staying away from damage and dodging hits. This is different from most tank classes because they are supposed to only be meat shields. These tanks also serve to deal as much damage to a single target as possible, which is always good at the end of tough battles.
Sith Juggernaut / Jedi Guardian
These types are typical tank constructions. They are taking the damage and they love it. If you want a class that plays like the tanks of the past, this would be a great pick. This class of tank knows how to take punishment and is ideal for important encounters.
Command / Powertech
These tanks are one of my favorites due to their different style of play. This choice gives you a chance to take down the bad guys from a distance. The use of ranged weapons and abilities makes these two classes unlike anything we’ve seen before in a massive multiplayer online game.
This role likes to wear heavy armor at all times and is always on the lookout for new technologies to make his job easier. These tanks are a one man blockade that few enemies can overcome. Heavy armor, advanced defensive abilities, and high-impact flamethrowers make this class extremely fun to play.
