Mu Alpha Theta Honor Cord Policy

Honor Cords are awarded to graduating students. There are many sections of this award, Mu Alpha Theta being one of them. The most popular colors for honor cords are lavender and gold. But the Alpha Theta honor cord can be different colors regarding college taste. It can be red, hunter green, light blue, bronze, orange, silver, maroon, white, purple, navy, off-white, royal blue, etc. The size of the cord is the same as other honor cords. This cord is also about sixty inches long. It consists of two separate ropes tied together, but there is a knot in the middle of the rope. There is a tassel at the end of the cord. Each cord without a tassel is almost thirty inches long. The tassel is approximately four inches long.

The rule of attachment in Mu Alpha Theta is given below:

o Student must be previously or currently enrolled in Pre-calculus or AP Calculus.

o You must continue to have your GPA at least above 3.00 in all math subjects you take at LCN.

o You have to attend all the Theta meetings that are scheduled.

o You have to attend all “pi weeks” for the entire time of this course.

o You must be linked to the MAT for at least two years.

o You must be linked to the MAT for at least two years.

o You have to organize Math Help Days after school.

However, Mu alpha theta Cords of Honor are awarded to graduates who have upheld this rule. To participate in Mu Alpha Theta, the student does not need to take math in their senior year, they have at least completed their junior year. If they are MAT members, they are eligible for the honor. Otherwise, they are not eligible for the honor. If the student dropped Pre-Calc after her first semester, she is not eligible for the Mu Alpha Theta honor cord.

Among all the policies, one of the most important policies is that a student does not qualify for an honors degree if any course during the succession was completed without credit or with credit. However, calculating GPA is the most important policy at Mu alpha theta Cords. Rounding is not performed during the GPA calculation. An example is that a student who has a GPA below 3.00 does not qualify for the honor cord.
