You may be sent to serve with an organization that has a lucrative compensation plan for corps members. There are so many organizations that pay very high subsidies to corporations. If you have the opportunity to serve in such firms, you will definitely reach the “million mark”. Most of these organizations pay high allowances and other incentives. If you add your monthly federal allowance to your monthly earnings minus your expenses for the month, you will become a millionaire in one year. This is possible if you really know what you want and not what you need. You must have financial intelligence to achieve your goal using this medium.

A corporar once told me that his firm paid him based on his performance, that is; the greater the production of him, the richer he becomes.

These lucrative employment opportunities are not limited to a particular sector of the economy. You can find high-paying organizations in both the public and private sectors. In addition, they are evident in the oil and gas, manufacturing, healthcare, banking, insurance, construction, entertainment, agriculture, transportation, and government sectors of the economy. Almost all economic sectors have resources available to make you a millionaire before finishing your year of service.

Most body members believe that the private sector is more lucrative than its public counterpart. It is not true that only sectors such as banking, construction, oil and gas and other multinationals pay rewarding allowances. I am happy to inform you that there are many ways to earn money in government ministries and agencies. A laboratory scientist who worked at a general hospital told me how she made millions of thousands legally.

My close friend who serves in a ministry comes home every week with a large sum of money. He works in the commissioner’s office, so each week the commissioner gives the entire body of his ministry a weekly bonus. Have you forgotten that Nigeria has the richest civil servants in the world? The testimonies of the profitability of the public sector are too numerous; time and space will not allow me to mention them all. Therefore, never neglect a posting in a public company.

It is also important to note that there are great opportunities in the private sector. There are some companies that pay high emission rights. During one of my investigations, I interviewed a civil engineer who worked for a private construction company. He was even begging for the service year to be extended. He told me that his boss was very nice to him. He categorically told me that he made millions during the NYSC scheme.

My message is clear: do not underestimate any organization you are destined to serve. That place you think is the poorest could be a gold mine in disguise. No two are the same. Corper “A” may benefit from a company where Corper “B” is struggling to survive. Therefore, never use the experience of another corps as a reference point for seeking republishing. Your boss may like you, and if you are loved, the secret treasures of the company will be revealed to you.

Almost everyone believes that serving in a Local Government Secretariat is very humiliating. On the contrary, the local government secretariat bodies were the richest in all the local government where I served. The president of the local government was a very nice man. He gave the bodies the privileges enjoyed by statutory local government workers.

You will never know where the gold is until you dig. You may find the gold in the dirtiest part of a place. You will never know the benefits of an organization until you work there. You’ll never know until you try.

Even if there are no means to earn money, you can invent it. Open your mind and you will see opportunities. The lab scientist I talked about earlier created the opportunity herself. She noted that the hospital lacked some medical consumables that patients have to drive several kilometers to buy. She decided to buy those consumables in large quantities. She was selling them at a very profitable price and patronage was high. She invented that opportunity. Hundreds of corps had served there before her and they saw no opportunity. So open your eyes, don’t just look but try to see.

Unfortunately, most corporations lobby to influence their posts. They pay in cash or in kind so that they can be sent to an organization that they believe is more lucrative. Most of them go to these chosen places and find that they are hell in disguise; it turned out to be the opposite of what they taught. Some bodies were disappointed that regardless of their profane act, they were never sent to the organization of their choice. You should be very careful, the Nigerian environment is characterized by corrupt and fraudulent acts, and the NYSC is no exception.

Most of the NYSC staff are credible and honest, but they also have “rotten eggs.” You may also be reported to the appropriate authority for disciplinary action for attempting to bribe a NYSC official. In most cases, NYSC officials who promise to influence publication in the targeting field do not have such powers. They simply deceive the members of the body and leave them.

During your post day, you will see and hear complaints. That day, I saw most of the bodies crying because someone had made an empty promise to them. They were sent places they never wanted apart from their financial and non-financial incentives.

The publication depends on many factors. It is not always possible to influence your publication. First of all, it depends on the number of body members required by the organization. Secondly, your profession also influences, and your gender is another factor. If a company needs only twenty engineers and three administrators, your lobbying can’t get them to raise the quota. So if you are not an engineer or administrator, then your service is not needed. The NYSC will only give them bodies based on their request.

Also, there are some states where all members of the corps are required to teach in schools, don’t be fooled, no one can change it. You are required to be in the classroom if that is state law. Your lobbying can never get you to a place where your service is not needed.

I’ll say it again that in every organization, there are opportunities to make good money. Your ability to identify opportunities in your organization is needed. My humble advice is; actively participate in all the activities of the orientation field and pray to God for his favor.

Get useful information about the company you want to work for. Learn all about the organizations you intend to work with. Visit their websites so you can familiarize yourself with their recruitment process. You can even apply for open jobs. You may be called after your year of service.
