Employee motivation programs, as the name suggests, are programs that are used to improve the morale and motivation of the employees. There are various programs and tactics, ranging from positive thinking seminars, incentives and rewards to warnings and fear. But do any of these produce permanent results? Can employee motivation programs help combat employee disengagement?

The answer here, of course, depends on what programs are being used. The best investment for any business leader would be a program that directly addresses employee beliefs. The truth is that our beliefs are so powerful that they affect our thinking, motivation, and actions. An effective employee motivation program should employ conditions for motivation and address the following beliefs:

* I can do all parts of my job;

* I will get the results my performance deserves;

* The results I get will be satisfactory to me.

Any program that effectively introduces these conditions will produce greater effectiveness, because it targets the employee’s beliefs.

Managers may think it’s easier and cheaper to ignore problems or employ other workarounds, but as previous research suggests, leaving the problem of low employee morale unaddressed costs companies billions a year in lost revenue. .
