Camping for fun vacations Gold hunt
TechnologyIf you want a good camping holiday and you want to find gold, I have the perfect place for you. Princton BC was noted for the gold found in the late 1880s. You’ll find the granite town that is now a ghost town. A lot of gold and platinum were found in the area.
To get to the golden camp from Vancouver BC, take highway number one towards Hope. Be sure to spend some time exploring the area as the gold miners used hope as a point jump to the Caribou. As I get out I hope he takes Route 3 to Manning Park. After arriving at Manning Park for a short stop, it is only 40 minutes from the campsite.
The park has a lot to offer, including a restaurant, visitor’s booth, restrooms, and tables on the green lawn for you to rest. You will find a dog play area when you exit the highway and enter the park; it is just on the right hand side as you enter. Be sure to collect your pet’s waste in the park supply bins for this.
As you come out of the west gate on the road, you will find a gas station with a small shop, the ice cream cones are extra large. From the west gate it is about 30 minutes to your camp.
This road changes from four lanes to two lanes as it goes down the mountain. Be on the lookout for wildlife, you will see a lot. The campground is only 30 miles away, watch for the Elk Ridge Outdoors sign on the right side of the road, if you go past the curve there is a place to turn right around the next corner, but be very careful of oncoming traffic . as it spins.
As you enter the camp path, you will see a path going straight and a path on your right. If you have a smaller platform you can go straight and check in at the main house, the road is bumpy and the turn around the house is not very big.
If you have a large platform, take the path on the right and follow it to the end of the side of the ridge. Keep in mind to use a low gear as the road is very steep and bumpy with some very tight corners. In some places, it will be right along the edge of the road that goes straight down a few hundred feet. If your passenger is nervous, have him look at you and not at the road. This is a dirt road, be aware of approaching traffic as the road is narrow in places.
If you are towing a car behind your motorhome, unhitch the car after turning onto the main camp road and ask your second driver to go ahead of you or drive the car down and take a good look at the road before taking it away. to rig
Once at the bottom you will find a large A-framed cabin and 6 smaller cabins that are rented by the day or by the week. The cabins are all new as of 2004. You will find 12 sites along the river and some in the trees and some outdoors. There is excess flow around the back of the A-frame.
The amenities are primitive as they have pit latrines and you will only be able to get water when the generator is running. The showers should be in operation by 2006. They have a big log fire pipe right above the beach. The scenery is absolutely fabulous, you will find gold in various quantities along the river. All gold hunting must be by hand, electrical equipment is not allowed.
