Baby Shower Game "Pictionary"

Baby shower party game ideas will let your guests get to know each other. Usually, not all baby shower guests know each other. Even if they do, baby shower games are an opportunity for them to learn something new that they didn’t know about each other before.

The only thing that all the guests have in common is that they know the future mother. Having game ideas centered around her will keep everyone interested and involved.

Many baby showers are ruined because the party ends up splitting into “cliques.” People who know the guest of honor from work will stick together. People who know her from school will sit in a corner. Family members will also isolate themselves. Your goal in brainstorming baby shower game ideas is to get these groups of guests to interact with each other. Everyone (especially the expectant mother) will be much more relaxed and enjoy much more.

Baby shower party game ideas don’t have to differ much from regular baby shower games. There is no law that says you have to play Baby Shower bingo at every baby shower! In every shower I’ve been to, the hostess has played the “memory tray” game. This is where you place baby-related items on a tray. We all look at it, and then she removes it and we all try to list what’s on the tray. Sorry to everyone that this may offend, but that game is not very fun. It does not create interaction between the guests. Nobody gets up from their seat and nobody speaks.

Baby Pictionary would be a lot more fun. Some other game ideas include regular games that you play at parties and gatherings. They are just as fun when you turn them into shower games. All you have to do is get a large sketch pad and a tripod. Maybe even just a dry erase board that you can temporarily place on the wall. Form teams of mixing the “cliques” and watch the fun begin. People are embarrassed (hardly anyone thinks they know how to draw). People shout answers, laugh and have a great time.

Poker is incredibly popular right now. Why can’t it become one of your shower ideas? Just pick a few decks of cards that match your theme (Pooh cards, for example), or some toddler cards. Then let everyone play a couple of games of stud poker or Texas Hold ‘Em.

Game Ideas don’t even have to limit yourself to playing games at home. I always wanted someone to have the guts to have a baby shower at Dave and Buster’s or Chuck E. Cheese. The games (and the food) are now available to you. Also, it would make a great baby shower theme. The last time the future mom will be a girl!
